Published Works and Presentations
While none of the following works are directly related to the field of education,
they do speak to my desire to communicate to a larger audience in other areas of interest and demonstrate a broad range of
knowledge. Educators, after all, should not only teach academic subject knowledge but should also model to
their students a broader interest in their communities through their own extracurricular activities and writings.

I have included the article "Horse rescues brace for economic crunch"
as published on the bottom of this page. The article was written to discuss the pressure our current economic crisis
places upon Maine horse rescues (one of which I operate). Further, I have included a letter written to me by former
University of Maine at Augusta President Charles M. Lyons commending me on the piece I wrote entitled "Will we ever be the
same?" that was published in the Capital Weekly in March, 2008.
